Katha Kutty by Apple Story Club ("Katha Kutty") is designed for use by children under parental supervision. Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian, not by the child directly.
From the parent: phone number, name, and country, collected at sign-up.
About the child: first name, nickname, date of birth, and gender, entered by the parent to personalize content by age.
Usage data: which stories/songs/books were played, how long, and app settings like daily listening limits - used to power features like Story Blaze & Rewards and Parental Control.
Device information: a device identifier and device name, used only to enforce your plan's device limit.
Payment information: subscription and payment status is recorded, but card/UPI details are handled entirely by Razorpay, our payment processor - we never see or store your full payment details.
We use this information to operate the app: to deliver content, remember preferences and progress, process subscription payments, enforce parental controls you set, and respond to feedback or support requests. We do not sell personal information, and we do not show behavioral advertising to children.
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the app: MSG91 (phone verification), Razorpay (payments), and Cloudflare (secure file storage for audio/images). We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers or other third parties.
Parents can set a PIN, verify their own age, set daily listening limits, and enable "Bedtime Mode" (a screen lock that keeps a child inside the app) for each child profile. These settings are visible and editable only behind the parent PIN once one is set.
We keep account information for as long as the account is active. If you delete your account from the Profile section, we permanently delete your profile data, child profiles, and usage history. Payment records may be retained separately as required for financial/legal record-keeping.
You can review and update your child's profile information at any time from Manage Child Profiles, and delete your account entirely from the Profile section. You can also reach us to ask what information we hold about your account.
This app is intended to be used by children only with a parent's or guardian's direct involvement in creating and managing the account. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts independently.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Questions about this policy, or requests about your data, can be sent through the Feedback & Complaints section in the app, or by calling +91 88910 19420.
